*PRE-OWNED EQUIPMENT:  This is the term used for equipment that is sold in AS IS condition. There are minimal parts replaced if any at all. A warranty may not be available on  these units. Pre- Owned equipment can range from older undesirable equipment to recent models in such good condition that there is not an immediate need for parts replacement.

**REFURBISHED EQUIPMENT:   This is the term used for equipment that is improved by replacing worn or broken parts along with minor repairs to the frame and painted areas. Once refurbishment is done the equipment should be in very good working and cosmetic condition. These units are most likely given a good warranty to protect your investment.

***RE-MANUFACTURED EQUIPMENT:  This term is given to equipment that has undergone a complete restoration, including new paint and decals. In many cases this is the most desirable purchase, however in some cases this could be the worst of all. Like any complete restoration, the end result is only as good as the quality of workmanship. In many cases the original coating is going to last the longest and once it is removed the new coating may not compare.

American Fitness Sales does not Re- Manufacture equipment since we beleive that the original coating is going to give your investment better protection over the years. Our Purchasing Dept. must seek out deals for equipment that has very little rust or damage in order to deliver our customers a product that exceeds their expectations. We generally sell Refurbished Equipment or newer Pre-Owned units with low miles and minimal wear and tear.

Our 7 point refurbishment process will clarify and relieve any concerns for purchasing refurbished equipment for any facility.

1. The frame is inspected for any stress fractures or wear that can possibly create excessive noise or unsafe conditions.
2. Drive systems such as motors are inspected, refurbished and or replaced to ensure quiet, smooth, safe operation well beyond the warranty.
3. All tension systems such as alternators magnetic brakes or manual brakes are inspected refurbished or replaced to ensure long lasting safe operation well beyond its warranty.
4. All electronics are inspected for arching, proper connections, correct tolerences and safe operation.
5. Wear parts such as belts, bearings, rollers, decks, chains, bushings and worn mounting hardware is replaced as part of the refurbishment process.
6. The replacement of cosmetic parts will depend on its functionality and overall appearance.
7. Although most equipment purchased for resale is free of any major cosmetic damage or rust, there may be minor touch up given to hardware or common sweat areas.

After installing new replacement parts that will ensure a safe and reliable operation for many years to come. AFS will give a Bumper to Bumper parts and labor warranty that gives our customers peace of mind in the decision to purchase refurbished equipment for their facility.

American Fitness Sales gives a 1year Parts and Labor Warranty on most Treadmills and Crosstrainers, 6 Months Parts and Labor for most Steppers and Stationary Cycles and 90 days Warranty on Strength Equipment and Spinning Cycles. The equipment that we will not give full Warranties on, are the Non- Refurbished units that are sold as is,  however an extended warranty can be purchased.

American Fitness is the only Refurbished Equipment Dealer that offers a 3 year Replacement Guarentee on any units purchased that cannot be repaired due to parts availability or manufacturer support. We will replace your unit with another of equal value to the original purchase price.
